Chris Hamley  |  Adjudicator


OneFest is delighted to welcome Chris Hamley as our adjudicator for 2011!

Chris is currently a teacher at Elizabeth College, where he directs the school musical and takes the Theatre Performance class. He has been there since 2003, and also taught Theatre Technology and Design, as well as pre-tertiary drama. He has tutored at React Drama School since it's creation, and taught drama classes at a number of dance schools.

But aside from the teaching side of things, Chris has a Bachelor of Performing Arts from UTas and is a regular performer in local theatre, appearing in a wide range of shows from Shakespeare in the Gardens (Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest), the annual Big Monkey children's garden show (Pinocchio, Once A Jolly Jumbuck), musicals (Blood Brothers, My Fair Lady, Guys And Dolls, Grease, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, Keating!) and plays (The Laramie Project, Cosi, Myth Propaganda and Disaster..., Two Weeks With the Queen) and will soon be staring in the title role for Hobart Rep's production of Richard III in October. 

Chris also directs occasionally, including the first two Hobart Summer Theatre School shows, Les Miserables School Edition and Back to the 80's, as well as Aspects of Love, Blackrock and Away. He has previously adjudicated the Hobart Rep One Act Festival in 2007.
