How awesome was OneFest!?

Well, OneFest happened this weekend, and it was fantastic. A truly amazing and diverse selection of plays, culminating in the festival afterparty awards at the New Sydney.

A big thank you to our wonderful MCs – Andrew Colrain, Tim Logan and John X.

And of course, a huge congratulations to the award winners for OneFest 2011: 

• Best Production $400 – The Old Nick Co. for 'The Education of Macoloco'
• Best Director $150 – Mick Lowenstein for 'Tacet'
• Best Actor (Male or Female) $150 – Sara Pensalfini Brown for 'The Education of Macoloco' and 'Tacet'
• Best Original Work $100 – Nicholas King for 'Toast'
• Most Promising Actor or Director $100 – Nelson Ohl for 'When A Man Knows' and 'Little Rabbit' 
• Adjudicator's Award $100 – StandPoint Theatre for 'I Dream Before I Take The Stand'

And last but not least, we are very excited to welcome our three fantastic session hosts for OneFest this year – Andrew Colrain, Tim Logan and John X. Undoubtedly three of Tasmania's finest comedians, these three guys will entertain you throughout the festival.

Welcome to OneFest 2011!

OneFest is back for another exciting year of short, sharp and shiny one-act plays! We’re looking for submissions of plays under 30 minutes, across all genres, that will amuse and excite our audiences, over three great sessions. 

In recognition of the work and effort that goes into producing one act plays, we are delighted to announce the following cash prizes for 2011:

Best Production – $400
Best Director – $150
Best Actor (Male or Female) – $150
Best Original Work – $100
Most Promising Actor or Director – $100 
Adjudicator's Award – $100 

We are also pleased to announce the OneFest After Party! Join us at the New Sydney Hotel (across the road from the Playhouse Theatre) on Saturday night after the final session for the announcement of the awards.
